How does MIX survive?
The MIX software has so far been developed and maintained with an ideological mind: we believe it should be free and remain free so as many people as possible can learn about, teach about, and perform meta-analyses. This has been possible by keeping the programming as simple as possible and by integrating it in the PhD projects of Leon Bax at Kitasato University from 2005 to 2008. However, from 2008 onward, MIX is no longer part of a PhD project (Leon graduated) and we have been lobbying for financial support. With regard to human resources, the Kitasato Clinical research Center and the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care have committed themselves to provide support with programming and maintenance. We are still looking for an additional sponsor that is willing to provide some financial stability.
