Thank you for using the MIX program, version MIX 1.6. If this is the first time you are using the program, please read the Quick Start Guide carefully.

There are a number of new features in this version, like the additional options for continuity corrections, the optional use of the t-distribution when calculating confidence intervals, better dialog for in/excluding studies, some improvements of the interface, and automatic resizing of the graphs based on preferences settings. There are some additional small changes and fixes for some small bugs. MIX is slowly but surely becoming more sophisticated, which also means you have to be more careful with what you are doing. Please use MIX together with good books and articles on meta-analysis!

The back-bone of version 1.6 is the same as of version 1.54 and therefore the start-up is still slow and there are many things that could run better. Although I am working on version 2.0, which runs much faster, I decided I did not want to introduce new bugs and I used 1.54 as a 'template' for 1.6. Please be patient and keep sending me feedback with your wishes for version 2.0.
